General Accountant
Who we are:
Samsonite is seeking a detail-oriented and Senior Accountant to oversee the end-to-end accounting process for one or more of our group entities. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data while meeting reporting deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will:
- Process supplier invoices efficiently and accurately.
- Manage the monthly closing process, including account reconciliations.
- Calculate agent commissions and customer year-end discounts.
- Review and control the general ledger, analyzing cost center variances.
- Prepare and submit VAT and Intrastat reports, as well as other statutory reporting requirements.
- Compile statutory annual accounts in compliance with applicable regulations.
Applicants should ideally have:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; familiarity with SAP FI/CO is a plus.
- Fluency in Dutch and English; additional languages are an advantage.
- A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey information tactfully and diplomatically.
- A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- A collaborative attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities while meeting deadlines.
- The capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
